Andrew Mallis

Andrew Mallis is a 2003 Fine Arts graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design. At the College, he served two terms as Chair of the OCAD Student Union, helping to create the gallery/social space Art System, pioneering a web radio, and the establishing an ombudsperson's office. He later founded and ran for two years the publication bite.

Since 2001, he as worked professionally as a consultant in the fields of environmental graphics, print media, illustration, and web technology.

For over 2 years, Andrew worked for Torstar/Metroland, co-ordinating and developing a network of websites for their GTA community newspapers with strong focus on local news and community engagement around municipal politics.

He works in new(er) media with code, photography and electronics, and in traditional media by writing, drawing & painting. In 2008, Andrew completed a residency at the Canadian Film Centre Media Lab.

He is passionate about helping help artists, non-profits and small business benefit from the one-to-many, and many-to-many relationships modern publishing technologies facilitate. The sites he builds principally leverage open source technologies and the Drupal Content Management System. He specializes in php, XHTML and CSS.
